Description

The Rollicking Rhymes series of stories is written especially for pre-readers and beginning readers. The rhymes are based on a limited number of word families, so that readers can recognize the endings of the words and develop fluency faster. Many rhymes also feature predictable repetitions of key words and phrases to help your child learn other words more quickly as well. The humor and whimsical illustrations found throughout the Rollicking Rhymes series help engage and keep the attention of new readers. In The Mother Goose News, the familiar fairy-tale characters also will help your child feel more comfortable with the text.

About the Author

Claire Griffin lives in Allentown, Pennsylvania, with her husband and two children, Liz and Will. They share their home with a silly, young golden retriever and a cranky, old, black-and-white cat who is still waiting for the dog to move out. When Claire wrote the Rollicking Rhymes series, she was teaching reading to first and second graders. Now she teaches in a middle school and writes poems that she hopes older readers will enjoy.
